About Glacial Acres Farm

About Us

Glacial Acres is a family farm located in central Minnesota. Since 1998, we have slowly transformed our crop production from supplying our family with fresh produce to supplying a few extended family and friends. Now, we market our crops from the South Dakota border to the Wisconsin border. In 2004, we are certifying organic with Midwest Organic Services Assoc. (MOSA). We don't want chemical food production for our own family, so we certainly won't do that for others, either.

On our farm, we employ the concept of 'stacking' to efficiently use the acreage we have. Many crops and livestock can be raised together to complement each other. Everything we raise includes the whole family. As I tell people, "Chickens won't trample the kids...". Our dogs keep predators at bay, so losses to walking pests is minimal. The chickens forage on pasture and insects. This improves the soil fertility and reduces insect pests. The children care for the animals, so the dogs are well socialized. Even the chickens run to us for a little attention!
